FAQs

Do you provide childcare/child watch? Children are welcome at all of our classes, including Mommy Yoga Flow, but we do not have someone assigned to watch them while moms are doing yoga. Think of it like yoga with goats or puppies, but it's with your own little wild thing (Sorry, we can't help a good yoga pun!). The idea is that you bring your child(ren) along, and they can play with other children, nap in their stroller, etc., but you are still responsible for watching your own.

At Powerhouse Dance Studio, there is designated space for children. If your child is independent enough and you're comfortable with them being out of sight, you are welcome to utilize it.

We’re offering free yoga classes to moms in exchange for helping supervise the kids during class time. If you're interested in doing this, please contact us!

I'm a mom, but I want to come without my child(ren). Is that okay? Members are more than welcome to come without their children. Just keep in mind that other children will still be present.

Are your mom classes beginner friendly? I'm worried about being too out of shape. We encourage all moms to come, from those who are new to yoga to those who know all the Sanskrit names to poses! Modification cues will be given for different levels, so you can do what is comfortable for your body now.  We were all beginners once, so don't feel intimidated or embarrassed to come as you are. Look, we might encourage some neat arm balances or inversions, and we won't resist admiring someone's cute new Lululemon outfit, but most of us will be there just rolled out of bed and wanting to move our bodies.

I'm an experienced yoga mom. Will your Mommy Yoga Flow class be too easy for me? Athena and Kaitlyn are both experienced yoga moms, so we understand the need to be challenged. We will definitely cue options for taking poses into a deeper expression, and you're always welcome to modify to your own level.

Do you host private events? Yes! Our private sessions can be customized to match your theme, energy, and experience level, perfect for birthdays, bridal parties, holiday celebrations, family get-togethers, or team-building events. Let us help you create a unique and memorable experience through yoga that your guests will love.

Do you provide mats or other props? Please bring your own mat and any props you'd like (blocks, straps, etc.). You can find yoga mats for as low as $10 at places like Walmart and TJ Maxx. Prenatal classes will have specific recommended props.

Are dads allowed? We ask that mom classes be a space just for moms. Dads are welcome to bring their children to our classes designed just for children. We look forward to celebrating dads on Father's Day with a special Daddy and Me Yoga session.

What's the age limit for my children? Children of all ages are welcome to join their moms. Classes specifically for children have recommended age ranges for participation, but siblings are welcome to hang out with mom if they're not registered for a class.

Can I do one of the Mommy and Me classes with multiple children? The Mommy and Me classes are designed for mom to do yoga with one child, and there are recommended age ranges for the different types of Mommy and Me classes (It's a lot easier to ask moms to raise a child over their head when they're 1 year old versus 6 years old). Siblings who are not directly participating are welcome to come with you, and they can follow along on a mat next to you, watch, play, read, etc.

Do I have to commit to a membership? Once you join our club, you're in, but there's no financial commitment tied to it. Simply pay a drop-in fee when you want to attend a class.

I booked a session, but I can't make it anymore. What's your cancellation policy? If you miss a session you've already paid for, you can book a make-up session. We don't do refunds, but you do have three months to book your make-up session.

Will you ever have your own studio and a child watch option? We would love to have our own studio and hope that it's something we can do in the future while still keeping our price point accessible. We would also love to add a child watch option to our schedule if we were able to find a space with a dedicated area for our tiny tribe. We're grateful for what we have going so far and are just happy to offer what we do.

What if there are no class times that work for me? Reach out to us if you have a specific time or location and we would be happy to host a session at a time that works for you. *Minimum participation requirements*

What happens if there's bad weather for your monthly free yoga in the park?  If the weather is not right for outdoor yoga, we'll do our best to announce any cancellations the day before. We will reschedule for another day that month.
